OBJECTIVE: In January 2026, Window Nation was going through a brand refresh with in-house efforts to establish a new brand guideline. I was tasked to create an icon pack and guideline that will be in the guideline.
IDENTIFYING OBSTACLES: Previously when there was no guideline on icon usage, there has been discrepancy between designers on sourcing/creating icons that were used across different medium on different projects throughout the years.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: I served as the main designer.
TOOLS: Wrike, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign.
DURATION: 1 week.
PROCESS: I researched and compiled a list of icons that Window Nation has used in the past to establish the appropriate stroke weight and overall visual style. Based on this review, I determined that the icons should generally be more angular with mitered edges to align with the brand’s sharper visual identity. Some softer edges are permissible, but they should be used sparingly to maintain consistency with the brand’s overall look and feel.
FINAL RESULT: Window Nation now has an icon library that creatives can reference, along with general guidelines to support future sourcing and development. The final product has a duotone version and a simplified version for different applications.

LEARNINGS:
This was my first time building an icon pack for a brand, and one of the main challenges was ensuring the icons felt like part of the same visual family. While I established some foundational guidelines, I believe there are additional considerations that could make the set even more cohesive—areas I’m continuing to learn and refine.
